Future Nurse FAQs

What is Future Nurse?

Future Nurse is a one-day, interactive program full of information about careers in nursing! This program is one way among many that we are diversifying our student body.

Who is eligible?

High-school seniors who have not applied to The Ohio State University and current Ohio State students who are interested in transferring to nursing are eligible to participate. Students who reflect underrepresented populations in the field of nursing are strongly encouraged to apply. Underrepresented populations include racial/ethnic minorities, males, first generation college students and more. For more information, please contact Rachel Choto at choto.1@osu.edu.

What do you do during Future Nurse?

You will learn real-world nursing skills and gain hands-on nursing experience in our Technology Learning Complex, with nine, state-of-the art, lifelike patient simulators. You will also have informal discussions with current students, faculty and staff and receive information about admission to Ohio State and the College of Nursing.

How much does it cost?

There is no charge for this program. Lunch and parking are provided. As part of the College of Nursing’s commitment to create and nurture a diverse student body, we value your participation.

How do I register?

Space is limited, and admittance to Future Nurse is on a first come, first serve basis. Directions, parking information and the day’s schedule will be e-mailed to you after you register.

When will I find out if I am in the program?

Notifications of acceptance, waitlist or denial will be issued by mid-April 2018.
